Smashbox cream eyeliner

I’m always buying and trying out new makeup so when I find something great I have to share it with you.  Smashbox cream liner in Caviar is one of the best eyeliners I’ve ever used because not only does it stay on a long time, but it is multi functional.  Use it with different brushes to achieve different looks.  This can be worn as a liner, over the lid for a smokey eye, and as a base for a bright color you want to really show off.  It is so easy to use and clean up.  Buy it here from Amazon.

BB Cream?

All of a sudden it is everywhere. So what is BB cream? Well, it was created in the 60′s, but became very popular about 10 years ago in South Korea where porcelain skin is highly prized. Many Korean celebrities are big endorsers. Just recently BB cream has made it to the US market and it is all over the place. BB cream is short for “Blemish Balm” or “Beauty Balm” and is an all-in-one make up and skin treatment. Manufactures claim it brightens the skin, evens skin tone, smooths the texture, treats blemishes, and moisturizes while providing coverage. Wow!  That is a miracle if it does all that so I thought it might be worth trying.  Most are like a tinted moisturizer, yet I just started using Missha (Korean company-go with where it started) and it is full coverage.

Although I don’t have the experience to attest to its long term results I have been happy with the coverage of Missha. My skin looks even and natural with only using a small amount of the product.  Why not try it for yourself if you are looking for a new foundation.  If anyone has used it for a little while I would love your feedback.

Whitney Houston’s style

In honor of one of the best voices that will ever grace this planet I wanted to share some of Whitney Houston’s fashion moments.  There are some images that I remember from my childhood of her CD/tape covers, movies or TV appearances.  I remember thinking she was so pretty and her voice was the soundtrack to many of our lives.  Here are a few the images I think of when I think of Whitney . . .

YSL New Lip Gloss/Stain

Yves Saint Laurent just released a new product: ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain.  (Glad it has a short name!)

This is a new type of lip gloss/stain-whatever you want to call it- that YSL is just bringing to the market .  Apparently there is nothing like it.  The look and feel are that of a gloss, but you will get the long wear like you would from a lip stain.  If you are anything like me I spend way to much money on cosmetics so I can’t wait to try this out.   If you’ve tested it let me know what you think.   Available in 20 colors you can purchase this new product at Sephora for $32.

2012 Golden Globes

It is officially award season in Hollywood.  Last night I was reminded of that when I was sitting on my couch and saw the Goodyear Blimp hovering over Hollywood Blvd.  This also means it is peak season for the fashion houses and stylists. Who is going to dress the biggest stars and who is going to the make the biggest fashion flubs.  I love award season for two reasons -the first being the Red Carpet (I live and die for this stuff).  The second being I live in Hollywood so it is nice to see a down to earth actor that I’ve had contact with win a big award . . . equally frustrating when I’ve had one of these jerks be rude to me then win a big award.  C’est la Vie!   Enjoy the show tonight and if you want you can play along and download a ballot here courtesy of Popsugar.

Clarisonic

Honestly, there are so many piece of crap products in the beauty world. This is NOT one of them. I finally broke down and got a Clarisonic after I kept hearing Estheticians talk about it (I work near a spa). You know how you can see left over makeup on a cotton ball after you rub toner on your face. Well, not when you use this. That is how well it cleans your face. I got a facial about 3 weeks ago and was told my skin’s texture was great. This is the first time anyone has complimented my skin. Go get a Clarisonic.
